Morning Sickness:
Impact on the Baby & You

There has been very little research carried out on the affects of morning sickness or Hyperemesis Gravidarum on the womens health and far more carried out on your unborn child
Frequent vomiting can potentially cause you to rupture your oesophagus - this is incredibly unusual and please do not let it worry you. The chance of it happening is minimal.
More common is vaginal bleeding and early contracts. Apart from worrying you Bashiri et al (1995) found women that had these symptoms had no further complications and went on to have a healthy baby.
Hyperemesis Gravidarum is more likely to have an impact on your baby. Please see The effects of Hyperemesis Gravidarum on your baby for more details.
Morning sickness can make you feel wretched, but it is most likely having a protective effect on your pregnancy by prevnting you consuming potentially harmful substances.
