When does morning sickness
start, reach a peak and finally end?
For most women a late period is the first sign of pregnancy. At this point you are 4 weeks pregnant and although morning sickness can occur at this time the hormone level is not normally high enough to trigger the nausea. However the hormones double approximately every three days so the nausea and sickness is likely to start in weeks 5 6 7. If it has not started by week 10 then it is highly unlikely that you will experience morning with this pregnancy.
Although every pregnancy is different, the normal course of events finds morning sickness starting when you are 5, 6 or 7 weeks pregnant and getting worse for weeks 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. When you are between 10 – 12 weeks pregnant your hormone will reach a peak and start to reduce as the placenta becomes fully functional. A lot of women exepct to feel better around week 12. You will gradually begin to feel better as the hormones level out and are likely to feel human again by week 16 and definitely by week 20. Very rarely it will continue.
